Assessment Testing

The ACT is the college admissions test required by colleges and universities in the midwest, including Missouri and the surrounding states. Students are encouraged to take the ACT in the spring of their junior year and again in the fall of their senior year. Registration packets are available in the guidance office. Raytown South High School code is 262752. Raytown High school code is 262750. The test center code at South High is 192370.
ACT online

The SAT is the college admission test required by many schools on the east and west coasts. While Raytown is not a test site for the SAT, students may pick up registration forms in either Counseling Center. The SAT is administered in several area schools. The SAT I: Reasoning test is a three-hour test, primarily multiple choice, that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities. The SAT II: Subject tests are one-hour, primarily multiple choice tests in specific subjects. Starting time for the SAT (usually 8 AM), and testing location, will be printed on your admission ticket, which you will receive in the mail.

The PSAT/NMSQT is given each October to college-bound juniors at both Raytown high schools. The PSAT is the first step in the National Merit Scholarship competition. It is highly recommended for students who rank in the top quarter of the class.

The PLAN, a preliminary test for the ACT, will be given to college-bound sophomores in early October. It includes an interest inventory. The PLAN is a good practice test for the ACT, which most college-bound students will take in their junior and senior years. The score report for the PLAN also gives an estimated range of how a student will score on the ACT.
