In addition to using cash, there are several different ways of purchasing meals.
Cafeteria Account Numbers:
Each student enrolled in the school district will have an account in his/her name. Once your student is enrolled in the district, they are given a student ID number. This ID number is used in the cafeteria to access their account. The student should memorize this 6-digit account number that is for him/her only. The student will enter his/her account number when going through the breakfast and lunch line. Please be sure this account number remains confidential since it will remain the same for each student throughout his/her school years in Raytown.
Prepayments:
Food Service offers families three ways in which to deposit money on a student’s cafeteria account. (1) Internet option on www.Mealpayplus.com using a debit or credit card (2) Phone option by dialing 1-866-720-1328 using debit or credit card and (3) Sending cash or check with the student to school. Whichever way you choose to deposit money into your child’s cafeteria account, the money remains in the student’s account until it is used. Parents may prepay any amount they choose.
Balance & Transfers:
Because your student account stays the same throughout your years in the district, balances and delinquencies will follow your student into summer school, across grades and into other buildings. The same system is used for summer school.
Checks:
Although personal checks are accepted at the register, it is preferable that the student bring any prepaid money to the cafeteria before the start of school as mentioned in the "Prepayments" section.
Communication:
Communication to parents is very important to us. At any time you can view a detailed account summary by going to www.Mealpayplus.com or by calling the cafeteria manager at your child's school.
Guests:
Guests are welcome and encouraged to eat lunch with students. Please make arrangements with your child's teacher.
Assisted Meals:
From time to time students forget to bring breakfast and/or lunch money or run out of money in their account. We have made arrangements for students to receive "PBJ Meal", where they will receive a milk, PBJ sandwich, fruit & vegetable and a milk for lunch & Graham Crackers & milk for breakfast. If this would happen for three consecutive days, the Food Service Office would place a call to the parents to offer our assistance in anyway to help with their situation.
A la Carte:
A la carte or extra items are offered daily for students in grades 2-12 to purchase. Parents have the option to restrict a la carte purchases. We encourage you to notify the cafeteria manager for an Ala Carte Restriction form if you do not want your child to purchase these items.
Questions:
If at any time you have questions regarding the food service program please contact the cafeteria manager at your school or the District Food Service Office at (816) 268-7076.
We look forward to serving your child nutritious meals while they are attending Raytown Quality Schools.
