Home Visits
P.A.T. offers free home visits for children ages birth - 3 years of age. Prenatal visits are also available. During a home visit (which lasts an hour) certified parent educators bring activities, handouts & developmental information to parents.
While doing the activities with the child & parent, parent educators are able to show how the activity stimulates & focuses on a developmental stage of the child (such as intellectual, language, social/emotional, gross & fine motor areas). Each parent educator strives to make the home visit a wonderful, enjoyable & worthwhile learning experience for children & parents.
The handouts parents are given have valuable information on issues parents may have at the age level of the child (such as temperament, sleep concerns, choosing daycare, baby proofing the home, siblings, health concerns, teething, dealing with stress, potty training, and pretend play).
During the home visits, parent educators are able to do a free screening on children starting at age 6 months.
