Eastwood Hills Elementary opened in January of 1953 with 370 students who had been transferred from Chapel Elementary due to tremendous growth, during a time of heavy construction and the addition of numerous school in the Raytown School District. At points in the school's history, it has housed over 500 students grades 1-5, and currently, houses grades K-5. Alumni Hall of Fame member Mary Phyll Dwight, an Olympian, is an Eastwood Hills graduate. The school's mascot is the Junior Jays, and the school is known for excellent family outreach and connecting to its surrounding community.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the USDA made it possible for school nutrition programs to serve students free breakfast & lunch through waivers. For the 2022-23 school year the district will be returning to regularly priced meals. For more information click here.
