Bond Issue 2019: Strong Bonds, Bright Futures
On December 10, 2018, the Raytown C-2 School District Board of Education voted to place the Strong Bond, Bright Futures bond issue on the April 2, 2019 ballot. A 4/7’s majority is required to pass the issue, which is the District’s first since 2014.
The proposed bonds would not increase taxes, as they will not raise the levy* for Raytown C-2 School District residents.
Projects include safety and security improvements; upgrades to performing arts centers; and general maintenance upgrades including roofing, plumbing, electrical, flooring and concrete and asphalt repairs. The district also desires to add line of sight, guided entries to all secondary schools. Additionally, the District seeks to build a restaurant for use by Herndon Career Center’s Culinary Arts program. A detailed list of 2019 Strong Bonds, Bright Futures projects can be found here.
*Taxes from other entities could raise the levy.
