Secondary (Grades 6-12)

  • How will students be connected to their counselors and college advisors if they select virtual learning?

  • Will there be a middle school orientation before school starts?

  • We have no guarantee that all of the students and parents that pick the same option - either home or in building will be in the same classes through the day. Student A picks the home option and takes sophomore core classes. Student B picks the inbuilding option and is taking sophomore core classes. How would you keep them in separate classes so that one would be in remote classes and the other in in building without a mix of remote and in building students in a class?

  • Will Herndon parents also be able to opt for virtual learning for their students?

  • Can students attend Herndon Career Center or Southland CAPS programs in person and complete other classes virtually?

  • Will my high school student still have access to complete all of the requirements for the A+ program?

  • Will the advanced (for high school credit) classes still be offered for middle school students?

  • Will seniors be able to choose a part-time schedule?

  • If students are wanting to take dual credit or AP courses, will they have to choose in-person?

  • If kids choose to do virtual learning is there the possibility of working ahead?

  • How will social distancing be enforced in secondary buildings during passing times?

  • If a high school or middle school student opts for virtual learning will they only be able to select classes from the list of "virtual options"? Will band, orchestra, and/or choir be available?
