Hybrid

  • Will the 2 day a week, a/b plan apply to all grades?

  • Does 7 days give families that much time?

  • As a parent, I would feel more comfortable with the Hybrid option, if there was an Option 3 with Wednesday being the Virtual Learning Day for everyone (also an extra day to deep clean in between groups A & B)

  • Can parents choose a hybrid plan? Does it have to be 5-days in building or all virtual?

  • Are there other hybrid plans being considered? Wouldn't a 1 week on 2 weeks off plan make more sense considering the incubation timeline of COVID?

  • Will there be a hybrid option for any students who would benefit from some in-person instruction and virtual learning? I would like my student to attend 2-3 times a week, but be virtual the other days.

Virtual

  • Raytown is a diverse community and I imagine there are families that are in crisis due to school being out and parents not having options for childcare for work. What is the district doing to consider those families? Are there families that haven't been participating in distance learning either due to parent being absent from the process or having no internet? What can the district do to assist those families?

  • While enrolling if virtual option is selected and if conditions have changed in favor of safe in person teaching environment after the 1st 2 weeks can we change our enrollment to in person learning?

  • Will students who did not participate in last years virtual learning be able to choose this option?

  • If my student is struggling with virtual learning will they be able to come to the school for assistance?

  • Can we start virtually and then switch to in-person if COVID-19 numbers decrease and restrictions are removed?

  • If we choose the virtual option, will there be a teacher that my student can reach out to during the day with any questions or will questions and teacher assistance be limited to the 45-60 minute blocks?

  • As the year progresses, will students be able to have virtual learning with the possibilities of electives in-person?

  • Is there more information available regarding the Launch and FuelEd platforms that will be used?

  • How will the new virtual learning option differ from what we experienced during the Spring 2020 semester?

In-Person

  • What are the attendance requirements for students who opt for in person learning?

  • Do you plan to add staff for classroom assistance and escorting? Staff to student ratio seems low for the protocols proposed.

  • Wouldn't it make more sense to move teachers from classroom to classroom versus moving hundreds of students around the building?

  • If a student must quarantine for 14 days how will this impact their attendance?

  • Will there be consequences in place for students who coughs or sneezes intentionally or jokingly on other students?

  • If water fountains are disconnected, how will students refill the water bottles they bring with them from home?

  • Is it possible for students to social distance in the hallways? How will this be enforced?

  • Will students be going on field trips this year?

  • Will schools still have assemblies?

  • Will my student still have Sports/Choir/Orchestra/Band?

  • What will the average class sizes look like at each grade level based on the different models?

  • When will parents know if in-person school will be 5 days a week or 1 or 2 days a week?

  • Will students be allowed to bring their own lunches? Will lunch boxes be allowed?

  • If backpacks are not allowed, how will students carry lunches, folders, notebooks, extra clothes, feminine hygiene products, library books, homework, etc. to and from school?

  • How will late enrollments be handled this year? If class sizes decisions are to be made before the start of school, will students who don't enroll until September/October only be offered the virtual learning option?

Misc.

  • How are we going to handle the alternative programs within Raytown School District?

  • The teachers are making more comments it appears about not wanting to be in person or fearing being face to face. How do we send our kids back when teachers are not giving a positive outlook. Can they safely care for our children if they are scared????

  • What resources will the District put in place to help parents feel successful in supporting their student with virtual learning?

  • Will students who refuse to wear a mask be offered virtual education?

  • Will meals still be provided by the District for students who participate in virtual learning?

  • What will the transition between in-person to virtual learning look like? What will the transition look like for students who must quarantine for 14 days?

  • Will there be any fees associated at any level?

  • Will there be food delivery for the first 2 weeks of virtual? Will there be food delivery during other times of virtual learning? Will it be everyday? Will buses be used? How can you guarantee safety of workers and families with this?

  • Will Food Service serve breakfast and lunch to go meals prior to opening of schools.

  • Will meals still be provided by the District for students who participate in virtual learning?

  • Will parents be expected to sign a liability waiver for their child to attend school in person?
