Ms. Shana Bobbitt, Counselor Class of 2022

Shana Bobbitt is an Illinois native who moved to the Kansas City area after accepting a position at Raytown High School. Attracted to the diversity that Raytown offered, RHS was her first and last interview after she completed a Masters in Counseling. She notes, "This school immediately felt like home!" Ms. Bobbitt is entering her 8th academic year at RHS and considers it an honor to work with the students and families of the Raytown community.

Prior to becoming a school counselor, she worked in Child Welfare, Financial Aid, and College Access. Ms. Bobbitt's education, work experiences and training helps her to partner with students as they begin their journeys towards young adulthood and post-secondary planning.

"I always say, 'Every grade level prior to high school is preparing you for high school. High school helps prepare you for life!' With that in mind, I encourage students to dream about what their lives after high school might look like and take proactive steps towards developing a plan to achieve those goals!"
