Welcome to Raytown South Middle

  • Front of RSMS Raytown South Middle School, the district’s second middle school, opened its doors to students in 1958 serving students in grades 1-6 while school building projects were under construction around the district.  Gordon Smith was the school’s first principal.  At the start of the 1958-1959 school year, Raytown South Middle School originally named, Raytown South Junior High, began serving students in grades 6-9 in the southern part of the district. Throughout the years, Raytown South Middle School has been home to students in grades 6-9, 7-9, and is currently home to students in grades 6-8.

    Fall Sports Prep and Parent Meeting

     

    We are rapidly approaching the 2022 Fall Sports season. Please make sure your 7th or 8th grader has their pre-participation sports physical exam completed by a physician. Please plan to attend a mandatory parent meeting for all sports participants on 8/17 at 7:30 pm, during SMS Open House. Contact SMS with any further questions. Fall Sports begin 8/22.

    As part of the district's efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology and maintain fiscal responsibility, the district has transitioned from paper to electronic flier (eflier delivery).   • 2022-23 School Meal Information

    During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the USDA made it possible for school nutrition programs to serve students free breakfast & lunch through waivers. For the 2022-23 school year the district will be returning to regularly priced meals. For more information click here.
