Annual District Awards
Each year, Raytown Quality Schools is proud to recognize one Teacher of the Year and one Support Staff Employee of the Year award winner through a competitive selection process.
This prestigious honor is awarded annually to the Raytown Quality Schools employees who demonstrate outstanding leadership, commitment, and dedication to student success and well-being. These honorees place student success at the center of their work and focus on ensuring equity and access for all students.

Teacher of the Year
The district Teacher of the Year recognition honors a certified, full-time PK-12 teacher, career and technical educator, guidance counselor, literacy coach, instructional coach, librarian or library media specialist, speech language pathologist or someone holding a similar position who is actively engaged in curriculum and instruction. The honoree has a demonstrated record of high academic expectations for all students, engaging students of all backgrounds and abilities, contributing to a positive school culture, and connecting with the school community.
Support Staff Employee of the Year
As a district, we all know it takes every employee to provide a quality education for a child. This program is designed to show the district’s appreciation for its support staff employees. Much like the Teacher of the Year program, a nomination form will be distributed by the principal or director. In this program, any employee, certified or classified, may nominate a candidate. The program is not intended to be a popularity contest, and those submitting nominations are encouraged to consider the impact the candidate has had on our students, staff, and school community.
