COVID-19 Information
2024-25 COVID-19 Protocols
RQS Families,
We want to update you on the health and safety protocols, including COVID-19, for the 2024-25 school year.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea.
Any student with fever greater than 100, who is vomiting and/ or has diarrhea will be sent home. The student will be allowed to return once s/he is one full school day symptom free.
Per the most up-to-date CDC guidance for respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, a staff/student with a positive COVID-19 test can return to work/school once s/he has symptom improvement and is fever free for 24 hours (and are not using fever reducing medication).
With the availability of vaccines, treatments, and a decline in cases, the district will no longer send notification home of a positive close contact case or update the COVID-19 dashboard. District leaders will continue to monitor cases and make any adjustments as needed to school day-to-day happenings.
We all play a role in keeping our school community safe. Please monitor your child’s health closely. If your child displays symptoms of COVID-19, or any illness, keep your child home and contact your doctor’s office.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
