RSHS Proposal
Raytown South High School Proposal
Approval of the district’s 2023 no tax increase bond proposal would allow the district to address necessary and immediate infrastructure needs for the Raytown South High School auditorium.Over the last few years, the district has completed temporary repair projects that supported structural needs at the existing RSHS auditorium, allowing for student and staff usage to continue to date. Those temporary repairs are nearing the end of their life span and a more long term solution is needed to keep the space safe and usable for the school community.
The proposed solution includes a two-phase project. The first phase is building the new Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the RSHS campus. To avoid classroom and event disruptions, students will use the existing auditorium space until the new facility is built. The second phase is to raze the current PAC and build an auxiliary gym in its place. An auxiliary gym will provide much needed space for sports and activities as well as allow RSHS to host tournaments.
