Head Start Preschool

  • Three Trails Head Start Preschool program is offered due to a partnership with the Mid-America Regional Council for Head Start (MARC). Head Start and Early Head Start programs serve more than 2,700 infants, toddlers and pre-school children in Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties in Missouri.  With this partnership, the Raytown School District provides early childhood educational experiences. Head Start is free of charge for families who qualify.  The preschool program is a half-day program with transportation provided.

    Head Start Application Process

    1. Families must live in the school district and the child must be between 3-5 years old. Children who are currently 2 years old but turn 3 by October 1st may also apply.  Families must meet qualifications listed below:

    1. Applications can take approximately 1 hour.  
      • Head Start cannot take an application if all income documents are not provided.
      • Families who are not accepted during the application period will be put on a wait-list.
      • Families must bring the documents listed in the document below or an application will not be accepted
    2. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED HEAD START

      Bring documents listed or an application will not be taken.  All Families must bring:

      • Proof of income for 12 months (W2, 2018 –1040 tax return, check stubs, child support, TANF, Foster Care or SSI)
      • Child’s health insurance card
      • Student’s Immunization Records
      • Original Student’s Proof of Birth
      • Parent / Legal Guardian Photo ID
      • Legal Guardianship Paperwork – if applicable
