Technology plays a critical role in our classrooms. District instructional leaders infuse technology into the curriculum. Many of our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, projectors, document cameras and wireless slates. Teachers have access to laptops, computer labs and student response systems. Online resources range from interactive websites to our online learning management system, itslearning.

As part of our goal to bring technology into every classroom, the District will expand its 1 to 1 computer program to include grades 7-10. Students in grades 2-6 will continue to have access to 1 to 1 devices, and our K-1 students will have access to classroom computer sets.

Our technology curriculum for grades K-8 is undergoing revision this summer. Our technology curriculum aligns with International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Students.

Student safety remains a priority with our Online Safety curriculum introduced during the 2014-2015 school year. In fact, Raytown Quality Schools was recently awarded the distinction as a Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship Certified District.  Our online safety program is derived from the CIPA recommended guidelines established through CommonSenseMedia.org. For more information on online safety and resources, you can use at home, see the Online Safety resources on the right side of this page.

Selected out of nearly 90 school district applicants nationwide, The Raytown School District is one of the first seven districts in the nation to receive the CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal, recognized for the district’s commitment to ensure the privacy and security of student data.
