Schools Across the District Celebrate National Read Across America Week

Schools across the district were busy celebrating National Read Across America Week the week of March 2 - 6, a recognition founded by the National Education Association.

The focus of National Read Across America Week is to encourage and motivate children to enjoy reading, and to serve as an awareness program to educate children, families, and communities on the value of literacy and the role reading plays in that.

The week-long celebration is also meant to motivate children and teens to read literature that is about everyone and for everyone. Students from every corner of the district read, and were read to, books from different genres and with different themes, to engage and encourage them to 'read outside the box.'
