Welcome to Raytown Middle

  • Raytown Middle School Entrance The building that now houses Raytown Middle School was originally opened as Pittman Junior High during the 1964-1965 school year.  The building initially housed elementary students from Laurel Hills in 25 classrooms as construction at Laurel was completed.  In the fall of 1966, Pittman Panthers in grades 7 and 8 populated the school.  Finally, in 1967 the building became a junior high with 7th-9th grade students, and Mr. Larry Folkins was the principal. Raytown Middle opened as a middle school for the 1981-1982 school year.
