Raytown School District Announces the Hiring of Administrators Beginning with the 2022-2023 School Year

The Raytown School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Kimberly Alonzo as the Raytown Middle School principal and Shunton Hammond as the Raytown South High School principal beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.

Kimberly Alonzo currently serves as an assistant principal at Miller Park School in the Lee’s Summit School District. She will complete her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies degree in May of 2022 from the University of Kansas.

Alonzo previously served as an assistant principal at Pleasant Lea Middle School and a special education teacher in the Lee’s Summit School District.

She will begin her duties as Raytown Middle School principal beginning July 1, 2022 following the retirement of Dr. Georgetta May.

Shunton Hammond currently serves as an assistant principal at Raytown South High School. Hammond has served in that role since 2012. Hammond has an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Before coming to Raytown, Hammond previously served as the head principal, an assistant principal, and a health and physical education teacher at Grandview High School.

He will begin his duties as Raytown South High School principal beginning July 1, 2022, following the retirement of Dr. Kevin Overfelt.
