Raytown High School Theatre Department receives 16 Cappies nominations
The Raytown High School Theatre Department received sixteen Cappies nominations for their musical The Addams Family. This is the most nominations Raytown High School has received for a single production.
Raytown High’s Cappies nominations for The Addams Family include Lead Actor in a Musical Judson Hulme as Gomez; Supporting Actress in a Musical Cynne Soria as Wednesday; Featured Actor in a Musical, Parker Cobden as Pugsley; Comic Actor in a Musical, Marques Alsup as Fester; Male Vocalist in a Musical, Jason Meyer as Mal; Ensemble in a Musical, The Ancestors; Choreography in a Musical, Liz Bagunu; Crew in a Musical, Jason Meyer, Aiden Harkins, Jordyn Hill, and Mackenzie Oberholtz; Costumes in a Musical, Rachel McCarroll and Tuesday Scanlon; Set Design in a Musical, Cheyli Ferbet; Hair and Makeup Design in a Musical, Kylie Butler and Mesmariah Hall; Lighting in a Musical, Carter Bryant and Phillip Stallings; Publicity for a Musical, Judson Hulme and Allisyia Vaughn; Props in a Musical, Cynne Soria and Jesse Best; and Female Critic in a Musical, Cheyli Ferbet.
Raytown High School also had two Cappies Commendees including Amber Johnson and Joshua McCarroll. Commendees are students recognized for their commitment to their high school programs both on and back stage.
The Cappies organization is a national program that trains high school theatre and journalism students to see, critique, and write reviews about high school theatre. The goal is to give high school theatre programs feedback and celebrate the arts community.
The Cappies Awards Gala will be streamed live on the Cappies Facebook page at 6:30 p.m. on May 30.
