Raytown South High School Students Earn Third Place in Local Shark Tank Competition
Raytown South High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students earned third place out of 20 teams in the Money Smart Kansas City (MSKC) Shark Tank 2019 Youth Contest sponsored by Central Bank of KC and administered by the University of Missouri-Kansas City Office of Financial Literacy.
Team members from Raytown South High School include Linda Clark, Donovan Cusick, Frank Lopez, and Ahmea Parham.
The competition was held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Each team received a topic or a problem and then had to come up with a product or service they could create as a solution to the problem. Each team presented their business plan, and the top five teams presented their ideas to representatives from MSKC.
The team from Raytown South High School designed a prototype for an app called, The Pulse, where teens and adults could manage their physical and mental health, finances, career, education, and transportation in one location.
This is the third year in a row a team from Raytown South High School has finished in the top three in the competition. The Raytown South High School Shark Tank team is coached by business teacher and FBLA sponsor Venus Webster.
