Students Earn Top Ratings at State Music Contest

Recently, students from Raytown High School and Raytown South High School received top ratings in the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) State Music Contest for band, orchestra, and vocal music solos.

Raytown High School band students who received a gold rating for their solos include Oscar Peraza, clarinet; and Joshua Ramon, trumpet.

Raytown High School band students who received a silver rating for their solos include Jocelyn Johnson, flute; and Kelly Sharp, trumpet.

Raytown High School band students who received a bronze rating for their solos include Grayson Helsel, bassoon; Zahnye Jackson, alto saxophone; and Joel Martinez, alto saxophone.

The Raytown High School Band program is under the direction of Joseph Hill.  

Raytown High School orchestra student Alena Harper received a gold rating on her cello solo.

The Raytown High School Orchestra program is under the direction of Amy Sadler.

Raytown High School choir students who received a gold rating for their vocal solos include Clara Bryant and Joshua McCarroll.

Raytown High School choir students who received a silver rating for their vocal solos include Naomi Gonterman, Mesmariah Hall, Aiden Harkins, and Phenix Watson. 

Raytown High School choir students who received a bronze rating for their vocal solos include Kylie Butler and Cheyli Ferbet.

The Raytown High School Vocal Music program is under the direction of Alex Kolster and accompanist Brenda Yeates.

Raytown South High School choir student Thessalonia Ryan received a gold rating for her vocal solo.

Raytown South High School choir student Carys Shelley received a silver rating for her vocal solo.

Raytown South High School choir student Lauren Mackenzie Jakes received a bronze rating for her vocal solo.

The Raytown South High School Vocal Music program is under the direction of Gretchen Kemp.
