Raytown School District Professionals Complete Training, Earn School Business Certifications
Raytown School District Professionals were recognized by the Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MoASBO) and Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for completing training and certifications.
Raytown School District Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Brian Huff, was recognized by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) as a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations or (SFO). School business professionals who earn the SFO certification have proven that they have the required knowledge, expertise, and fiscal credibility to lead their school district and effectively manage the District’s finances.
The SFO designation is granted to highly qualified school business professionals who fulfill multiple requirements, including demonstration of certification eligibility (through work experience and education); passing a comprehensive two-part exam that tests competency in accounting and school business management topics; and adhering to the ASBO International Certification Code of Conduct.
School business officials who have earned the SFO certification commit to ongoing professional development, renewing the certification annually, and undergoing recertification every three years.
Payroll/Benefits Supervisor Susann Bronson completed the MoASBO’s School Business Specialist Certification Program (SBS). The SBS program is a two-year intensive course designed to prepare and grow current school district employees for the business office. During this program, Bronson participated in training specific to Missouri in the following categories: law and regulations, business operations, best practices, ethics, and advancement of professionalism. This program helps those dedicated to school business better understand continuous improvement and staying relevant and resourceful in order to support students.
Finance Supervisor Jacqui Vernon completed MoASBO’s Administrative Leadership Development (ALD) program. The program is an interactive year-long program that provides additional skill building for school business officials. Vernon participated in three workshops, three online eLearning seminars, and sessions at three conferences. The program is designed to help emerging education business leaders develop their strengths and build on their knowledge.
Dr. Huff, Bronson, and Vernon accepted certificates of completion at the MoASBO Celebration and Collaboration event held at Lake of the Ozarks.
