Raytown High School students in music programs earn high ratings at District Music Contest

Recently band, choir, and orchestra students from Raytown High School participated in the District Music Contest. Students who earned an exemplary (I) rating will represent Raytown High School at the State Solo and Ensemble Music Contest on April 25 at the University of Missouri - Columbia.

Band students who received an exemplary (I) rating for their solos include Natalya Ferbet, Alto Saxophone; David Sevart, French Horn; Miles Clemons, Piano; Logan Oehring, Trumpet; Javien Hubbard, Snare Drum; and Caleb Nading, Snare Drum.

Band students who received an outstanding (II) rating for their solos include Zahnye Jackson, alto saxophone;

Alex Woods, baritone saxophone; Clara Bryant, clarinet; Jocelyn Johnson, flute; Mackenzie Oberholtz, flute; Anna McCready, flute; Drake Ross, oboe; Ismael Guijarro, trumpet; Judson Hulme, marimba; Emily Hulen, marimba; Destiny Wiley, marimba; Halle McConnell, marimba; Micah Cotton, marimba; and Je'zhon Baker, marimba.

Band students who received an outstanding (II) rating for their ensembles include the Saxophone Quartet of Ian McCready, Lindsey Mahan, Infinatasia Moore, and Elliott Clemons; the Woodwind Trio of Lindsey Mahan, Joshua McCarroll, and Alex Wagstaff; the Flute Trio of Anna McCready, Mackenzie Oberholtz, and Jocelyn Johnson;and the Woodwind Quartet of Brianna Starr, DJ Bunch, Zahnye Jackson, and Cameron Adams.

The Band program at Raytown High School is under the direction of Joseph Hill.

Choir students who received an exemplary (I) rating for their vocal music solos include Kyle Baker, Kaleb Clemmons, Karlee Etter, Gabrielle Fiene, Emma Hill, Judson Hulme, Lindsey Mahan, Jason Meyer, Logan Oehring, Tuesday Scanlon, Destiny Tillman, Olivia Villa, Nahrya Williams, and Justin Wood.

Choir students who received an exemplary (I) rating for their vocal music ensemble include the Camerata Men's Ensemble of Kyle Baker, Kaleb Clemmons, Zion Noble, Jack McClung, Joshua McCarroll, Jason Meyer, Dakota Humphress, and Logan Oehring; and the Camerata Women's Ensemble of Carlyn Carpenter, Destiny Tillman, Emma Hill, Tuesday Scanlon, Lindsey Mahan, Olivia Villa.

Choir students who received an outstanding (II) rating for their vocal music solos include Benjamin Baker, Clara Bryant,

Kylie Butler, Raeyonna Craig, Sahree Eng, Miranda Erickson, Naomi Gonterman, Cheyli Ferbet, Zahnye Jackson, Joshua McCarroll, Jack McClung, Angela Nightengale, Courtney Reeves, Cynne Soria, and Iris Vazquez.

Choir students who received an outstanding (II) rating for their vocal music ensembles include the Camerata Mixed Ensemble of Justin Wood, Judson Hulme, Kylie Butler, Jenna Poynter, Miranda Erickson, Iris Vazquez, and Emily Sadler and the Camerata Women's Ensemble of Karlee Etter, Cheyli Ferbet, Gabrielle Fiene, Courtney Reeves, Marissa Jones, and Amber Johnson; and the Concert Choir Mixed Ensemble of Micah Cotton, Jesse Best, Da'Vione Key, Kanani Masoner, Sahree Eng, Raeyonna Craig, Cynne Soria.

The Vocal Music program at Raytown High School is under the direction of Alex Kolster and Brenda Yeates.

Orchestra students who received an exemplary (I) rating for their solos include Anna Ryan, viola; Anna Ryan, violin; Darra Harper, viola; Abigail Meyer, violin; Alena Harper, cello; Abigail and Jason Meyer, violin;

Orchestra students who received an exemplary (I) rating for their ensemble include the String Trio of Abigail Meyer, Anna Ryan, and Alena Harper.

Orchestra students who received an outstanding (II) rating for their solos and ensembles include Jason Meyer, violin; the String Quartet of Jason Meyer, Arrena Flores, Tuesday Scanlon, and Miranda Erickson; and the Violin Trio Emily Sadler, Maggie Givens, and Jessica Johnson.
