High School Students Place in State Competition, Qualify for National FBLA Competition
Students from Raytown South High School and a student from Raytown High School placed in the Missouri Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competition. The competition was originally set to take place April 19-21 in Springfield, MO but was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Raytown South High School student Justice Thompson placed first in the state FBLA competition in the Client Service event and qualified for the National FBLA competition. The National FBLA competition will be held virtually June 29-July 2. Thompson also placed eighth in the state FBLA competition in the help desk event.
“I have been very impressed with the FBLA organization, sense of community, and leadership I have seen demonstrated by not only my fellow teammates, but also our incredible sponsor Mrs. Webster,” said Thompson. “My FBLA team has been such a supportive family, and has helped create more interest within me for more understanding of American business culture.”
Raytown South High student Derek Porter placed eighth in the state FBLA competition in the Advertising event.
Raytown High School student Tiffany Lin placed ninth in the state FBLA competition in the Banking and Financial Systems event.
